Three Reasons Why There Is A Growing Attraction To Indoor Rowing

By Cathy Williams

Indoor rowing has been around a while. Nevertheless, lately they have grown in popularity because high tech equipment has improved, people are more aware of rowing machine advantages and our active lifestyles have increased the need for more efficient workouts.

High-Tech Devices

As with a lot of home workout devices, indoor rowing machines have high-tech systems that can keep track of your distance, pace, calories burned and more. Now some models have the capacity to track your heart rate for a more effective exercise.

Innovation even permits individuals to compete with other rowers or the machine itself. This is a fantastic method for staying motivated and adding one more dimension to your exercise regimen.

Being able to set objectives and see your improvements over time is a wonderful method to help individuals improve and excel in rowing. Instead of working with a specialized trainer or committing to a group class, some people find that technology can help them attain what they desire on their own.

Rowing Equipment Benefits

More people are getting introduced to indoor rowing machines with Crossfit groups, health clubs as well as rowing gyms. As people attempt the sport, they see that they can get a whole-body workout using one device.

They notice that they can tone their arms and legs and benefit from an aerobic exercise at the same time. They also find a sport that is low impact and can be easily learned at any age - no previous experience or special skills needed.

Recognizing all these benefits, many individuals are getting involved in the sport of indoor rowing without ever touching a lake or river. Plus, the additional benefit of rowing in your home makes this activity even more appealing.

Efficient Workouts

Many of us are active all day long. We have jobs to manage and families to look after and a range of other duties. Sometimes, it can be hard to fit in a regular exercise regimen. Having at-home exercise gear can be a great convenience. That said, gear like treadmills or stationary bicycles train just a section of our bodies. They do not provide a whole body workout.

Indoor rowers are terrific for this reason, as they can strengthen the arms, lower body muscles and your whole core. Furthermore, while you are working your muscles, you are also getting the advantages of an aerobic exercise.

What this comes down to is that you can get even more strength training done in less time. This provides individuals the chance to exercise less often or for shorter time periods without foregoing the fitness advantages. In fact, there is a fantastic 8-minute exercise that I do all the time.
